Marketing Director and New Business Development

The position is available for a dynamic individual to play an integral role in driving and supporting our clients goals and objectives for profitable, sustainable growth. Core Responsibilities:

• Lead evaluation, approval, and development of major business opportunities including new product and new market entries (e.g. China, Korea, India).
• Develops and integrates sales plans and strategies into an overall SBU plan to achieve maximum profits, and increase earnings.
• Partner with the AS Global Sales Director to ensure that authorized sales plans and marketing programs are properly implemented by the sales organization within the SBU, to achieve or exceed profit, volume, product mix, and other established sales and marketing objectives.
• Develop marketing personnel to support entry of new product lines and coordinates new products with sales, engineering and manufacturing.
• Act as expert, leading selling and marketing activities with key target customers.
• Identify new business opportunities. Work with other BGI SBU’s to identify cross-SBU market opportunities.
• Lead and coordinate acquisition and cross-functional due-diligence efforts partnering with BGI Corporate Development.
• Effectively communicate and share information, knowledge and expertise between projects and functions.
• Direct Strategic planning process and develop timely business plans to support strategic goals.
• Develop effective working relationships which foster integrity, trust, respect and collaboration with internal and external customers.
• Identify and provide recommendations for new product, customer, and market opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Combination of 8 to 10 years business development, marketing, and strategy experience.
• Must be knowledgeable of and have ability to integrate manufacturing processes, sales, marketing, financial, logistics, and human resource disciplines to maximize revenue growth and market share.
• Solid verbal/written skills and highly developed communication skills (i.e., persuasive selling, presentation delivery, etc.).
• Demonstrated familiarity and use of lean manufacturing principles; Six Sigma certification a plus.
• Ability to provide innovative, creative, and customer focused solutions.
• Visionary approach in utilizing technological advances in sourcing new business opportunities with existing and new customer base.
• Computer literate in appropriate software.
• Ability to travel 25% (domestic and international).
• Strong leadership and people engagement skills; leads by example and manages using leadership effectiveness (EI).
• Develops effective working relationships which foster integrity, trust and respect.

Education Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or Marketing required. MBA preferred.

Marketing Director for Catastrophe Software Sales

We are representing a growing national leader in scientific and simulation engineering research and development the Greater Raleigh/Durham, NC area that is seeking a Marketing Director for their Catastrophe Software Sales Division.

This position will provide the professional with responsibility for the management of one to two specific catastrophe modeling software product lines and their growth through strategic product planning and marketing. The senior product manager will assess the needs and opportunities for catastrophe models, specifically a US based hurricane wind catastrophe model, through research and feasibility analysis to develop new product specifications.

Additional responsibilities include the following:

Maintain market position of products by managing existing product lines and competitive market information.
Participate in product modification, cost reduction, margin analysis, advertising and promotion, forecasting, product positioning and pricing strategies.
Develop goals, budget and strategic business plans.
Provide management with comparative product analysis, competitive product and marketing strategies, and feature and benefit summaries.
Conduct product training sessions and manages relevant trade shows.
Authority to develop goals, budget, and business plan for product line.

Required Skills
The successful candidate will demonstrate past experience in:

Identifying and developing clients (i.e., locating potential clients, developing client relationships, and preparing proposals).
Project manager or other significant supervisory roles including personnel, project, and budget management.
Track record of successful product delivery from follows product from initial development through all stages to product launch.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction.

Required Experience

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or Technical or equivalent requires seven to nine years of experience in catastrophe modeling software sales and product/market management.

Social Games Technical Director

San Francisco based Social Game Studio is on the grow and is need of very talented Technical Development Director with experience leading development of high-volume social games and/or commercial web applications using Java and Flash.

Studio will provide relocation assistance to qualified candidates.

Job Responsibilities:

You will provide technical leadership for a team of 20-25 people (US and Eastern Europe) to create social games. You will lead both managers and individual contributors directly while leading 4-6 concurrent social game teams. You will be managing and you will be leading technology, the role requires both to directly lead individual contributors in the development of 2-3 games, each game having approximately 4 developers and oversee manager(s) who lead another 2-3 games.

Lead a cross-game ‘swat team’ who assists individual games and helps with architecture and layering of code
Happily manage, motivate and work hands-on with Backend Java Developers in a restful architecture, Flash/AS3 developers and front-end Flash/JS/CSS engineers
Hire top talent successfully and keep them effective and motivated.
Agile hands-on design and implementation of new features or innovative improvement of existing features
System planning, component re-use and refactoring for continued growth
Managing status, priorities and process for a significant team under time constraints.
Work closely with Product Management and Game Designers to build the most creative, viral and successful social games in the market.

Experience:
You should have done one or more of the following:

You have worked as an individual contributor to code and release a game.
You have managed development for multiple hosted games.
You have worked on any large production consumer-facing web sites
You have experience creating social or community software platforms
You have real Facebook application or integration experience
You have formed and grown teams at small startups

Required:

BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science
Have managed teams of 15+ engineers
Have experience as a second line manager
5+ years of real-world experience building production Java/J2EE applications (Spring, Hibernate and similar Open Source) on Linux/UNIX
5+ years of managing 6 or more people
3+ years of social, games or major consumer website experience
Good Object Oriented design skills, including best practices, patterns, algorithms and data structures
Good Java coding skill
Good database experience including schema design, query tuning etc
Flexibility, resourcefulness and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with business driven dates and long lists of features
