Management Consultant
DESCRIPTION:
The Sr. Performance and
Talent Management
Consultant is
responsible for
creating, leading, and
implementing the
performance management
and talent management
plans and initiatives in
the North America
Region. In addition, the
individual will oversee
the talent management
system (ReView)
including training
users, providing access
and ongoing support.
JOB DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES:
For Performance
Management, the
individual is
responsible for ensuring
the process and tool is
communicated and
utilized by employees
and managers and that
learning materials are
created, updated, and
delivered throughout the
year. Periodic reporting
of completion results.
For Talent Management,
the individual is
responsible for
participating in the
creation and/or delivery
of the management review
and succession planning
processes such as the
new Talent Review. Also,
this position serves as
Program Manager for the
new Mentoring Program in
Region.
The Sr. Consultant is
also responsible for the
design and/or
implementation of
related learning
programs and workshops
such as the Coaching
Workshop, Mentoring
Program Workshop, PMP
Learning Sessions,
coordination with MDP –
Managers Toolbox,
etc.The role will also
interface and support
other activities within
the People Development
function such as
Leadership Forums,
Learning Mgt System, and
Internal
Marketing/Communications
efforts (e.g.
Inside.abb.com) Travel
required is
approximately 20%.
Position reports to the
Director, People
Development, North
America Region
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree is
required - preferably in
business, human
resources, and or
organizational
development. Master’s
degree is preferred.

Salary:
$65,000.00 to $70,000.00
per year

NC- Sanford – Purchasing
Director
DESCRIPTION:
This position is
responsible for all
activities related to
the purchase of
materials and supplies
according to approved
requisition, either
directly or through
subordinates. Typical
duties of subordinates
would include the
placing of orders with
vendors, revision of
orders, following up on
orders to assure
satisfactory delivery,
price quotes and
negotiations, industrial
parts sourcing, buying,
vendor and quality
audits, cycle counting
and product audits,
import/export
documentation
verification,
maintenance of
requisition and purchase
order files, etc. In
order to capture
significant cost
savings, the director
will be responsible to
review and analyze
market and product
conditions, competition,
aggressive negotiations,
and all resources (key
players), in order to
develop and execute cost
saving plans. Position
requires ability to be
involved in all areas of
responsibilities by
performing the following
duties personally or
through subordinates.
JOB DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily involvement in all
areas of the department
responsibility
functions.
Must demonstrate
aggressive contract
negotiations, resulting
in significant cost
savings.
Prepares instructions
regarding purchasing
systems and procedures.
Analyzes market and
delivery conditions to
determine present and
future material
availability and
prepares market analysis
reports.
Reviews purchase order
claims and contracts for
conformance to company
requirements.
Develops and installs
clerical and office
procedures and
practices, and studies
work flow, sequence of
operations.
Product counting and/or
audits within the plant
environment.
Manager and supervise
department staff and
responsibilities that
include two buyers and a
purchasing assistant.
Must be able to
effectively communicate
in a business and
professional manner
(both verbal and
written) with
internal/external staff
and outside vendors,
including overseas
vendors and parent
company.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree and/or
Certified Purchasing
Management Certificate
5 yrs. supervisory
experience in a related
area.
Proficient with
Microsoft Office
software
Travel - will be
required to do periodic
vendor audits and to CA.
location.

Salary:
$70,000.00 to $90,000.00
